Just a post to say hello to fellow Piaggio Ape fans.
As Den knows, we own a limited edition Ape Calessino tuk tuk (No. 214 of 999) which we use as our only form of transport out in Tarifa, Southern Spain (other than our push bikes and the excellent local bus service to / from Gibraltar via Algeciras). We have had her from new in 2010 via Vespa Malaga - the only one registered in Andalucía.
She has a 422cc diesel engine which starts first time - even after being locked up in our garage for a good few months. She is a real treat to drive and always causes a reaction when we take a run to the old town, round the little port or down to the wonderful local beaches. She is now 4 years old and has just passed her first ITV (the Spanish MOT).
I operate the only global on line register of Ape Calessinos (CalessinoParade), which is trying to track down all 1,699 limited edition Calessinos (999 Blue/White and 600 White/Bordeaux Diesel plus 100 White/Blue Electric LV). Please do get in touch if you see a Calessino or even better of you own one and would like to be added to the register.
